Toys“R”Us Helps Kids Enjoy a ‘Spooktacularly’ Safe Halloween!

Soon, children everywhere will dress up as their favorite characters for a day of haunted happenings, tricks and treats. To help kids stay safe on Halloween, Toys“R”Us announced that it has updated its dedicated safety microsite at www.Toysrus.com/Safety with Halloween-themed tips from Safe Kids Worldwide, the world’s leading childhood injury prevention organization. Toys“R”Us stores across the country will also host special Trick “R” Treat events on October 31 from 1 – 5pm, offering parents and kids a safe place for fun on All Hallows Eve. Kids can participate in “Geoffrey’s Costume Parade,” collect treats and even take “Geoffrey’s Safety Pledge.”

“We love kids, and we want to help keep them safe at all times, including when they’re dressing up as their favorite ghouls, princesses or superheroes on Halloween,” said Greg Ahearn, Senior Vice President, Marketing and e-Commerce, Toys“R”Us, U.S. “As our littlest customers prepare for their Halloween celebrations, we’re helping parents avoid any real scares by offering Halloween safety tips, along with a broad assortment of Halloween safety products, reflective accessories for costumes and more.”

Halloween-focused tips will remain on the company’s dedicated safety microsite throughout the month of October. Topics parents will find helpful while preparing their children for an evening of ghostly glee include:

· How to choose the right costume for a child

· Helpful safety accessories for trick-or-treating

· How to ensure the treats kids receive are safe to eat

· Halloween safety products and accessories

On Friday, October 31 from 1 – 5pm, all Toys“R”Us stores across the country will host a ‘spooktacularly’ safe Halloween celebration for kids and families. Children ages 3 and up who attend the in-store Trick“R”Treat event, can:

· Dress up in their favorite ghoulish garb and receive a complimentary, reusable and reflective Trick“R”Treat bag, filled with safety tips and accessories, while supplies last;

· Join Geoffrey the Giraffe as he leads a costume parade around the store every hour on the hour, from 1 – 5pm, picking up treats along the way, while supplies last;
